The Self Realizations Centres project utilized Medlicott Design mainly in a consultancy position. The Centre already had a website and first approached me to wotk on their SEO. As we looked into the relevant issues we found that the existing WordPress theme installation was also holding many SEO options back, as well as not being easy to manipulate.

The client had some knowledge of web design and working with WordPress, so after I suggested a better theme base, I worked with teaching and training the client more about how to use WordPress, more about design style and using CSS as well as giving constructive ideas or critiquing the clients developments and suggesting best practice models for building an online website from my years of experience.

All this was done on a demo website with minimal functionality, until I moved the demo over to become the “live” website in time for the New Year.

I believe this has been a very successful, albeit long-term project and I know the client is happy, especially as they had so much input into the aesthetics, something that isn’t as important to me as the SEO and usability of a website, so hopefully the joint collaboration ticks lots of boxes.
